Pop music that is grown-up and playful at the same time – this description fits Die Höchste Eisenbahn’s music best. Their catchy debut “Schau in den Lauf Hase” was released in November 2013 and turned out to be a surprising success. “It touches your heart like almost nothing in this language does”, the newspaper Die Zeit wrote. According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, “it has been a while since a band with such a talent for melodies, clever universal stories and for great choruses in particular entered the German pop arena.”
Following their success, Band members Moritz Krämer, Francesco Wilking, Felix Weigt and Max Schröder locked themselves into their own studio in 2015 and carried on working on their sound – without a producer or a time schedule. The result was a new album that radiates light-heartedness, warmth and openness. “Wer bringt mich jetzt zu den Anderen” provides mix out of Fleetwood Mac’s easiness, Talking Heads’ childlike folly and the Allman Brothers’ tranquil folk-funk. Die Höchste Eisenbahn focuses solely on two topics – what we do and how it feels.
