Not one of Destroyer’s albums sounds like the other. And yet, both works sound uniquely familiar – something one could only expect of lead singer Dan Bejar. His last album “Poison Season” was highly praised by German music magazine Musikexpress. Wild influences from E-Street, 80s sophisti-pop or piano-focused song writing as one would know from the 70s make this LP as outstanding as it is.
Bowie-esque arrangements make Destroyer’s music familiar and yet mysterious. One could speak of a synthesis of the arts that was pulled together into one musically aesthetic corset. Destroyer manages to bring exactly this musical aesthetic to the stage – and will show this to the audience at the New Fall Festival.
